A layout just for one page of a block theme
Give one page, such as a campaign landing page, its own block theme template, with a simpler header and full-width content, without touching the others.
- Difficulty
- Advanced
- Time
- about 25 min
On my block theme, the page [page slug, e.g. black-friday] needs its own layout: [layout, e.g. no menu in the header, only the logo; content at full width; a small footer with just the phone number]. Start from the theme's page template, make a template only for that page and leave every other page as it is. Save it as a draft, check the preview in a browser against the current page, and put it live only after I approve.
Already connected?
If SAR is already in your AI app, this is enough:
Make a template only for the page [slug] with [layout], as a draft I check first.
What happens
- The AI app lists the theme's templates and reads the one the page uses now.
- It writes a new template under WordPress's own name for that one page.
- It saves it as a draft with a signed preview link; visitors see nothing new.
- It compares the preview with the current page in a browser and reports anything that looks off.
- A template for one page is put live with your approval in SAR, and can be undone.
