A new or redesigned site checked so Google can find it

After a launch or redesign, check that search engines aren't blocked, no coming-soon mode is left on, and Search Console has a sitemap it reads.

The prompt

I just [launched my new site]. Check that WordPress isn't asking search engines to stay away, that no coming-soon or maintenance mode is still on, and that the address structure is what I expect: [/%postname%/]. Check that Search Console has my site and a sitemap Google has read recently, and anything else urgent for search in site health. Only report, in the order I should fix things.

Already connected?

If SAR is already in your AI app, this is enough:

Check that search engines can find my newly [launched] site, and report what to fix first.

What happens

  1. The AI app reads your WordPress settings, including whether search engines may index the site and the permalink structure.
  2. It checks for WordPress's own maintenance file and for coming-soon or maintenance plugins that are switched on.
  3. It runs the site health check for problems hurting search now, such as search engines blocked, no HTTPS or sitemap errors.
  4. It reads your Search Console property and its sitemaps.
  5. Nothing changes. Search visibility is switched in WordPress under Settings, Reading.

Approvals involved

Nothing here changes your site: no approval needed.
