Links inside your posts that lead nowhere, found and fixed

Find links in your posts that point to pages you renamed or removed, and replace each one with the right address, one approved change at a time.

The prompt

Check the links inside my last [50] published posts that point to my own site, [example.gr]. Find the ones that lead to an address none of my published posts or pages has any more, for example after I renamed or removed a page. For each, suggest the page it should point to now, or tell me the link should go. Show me a table (post, old link, suggested new link) and wait. Then replace only the ones I approve.

If SAR is already in your AI app, this is enough:

Find internal links in my last [50] posts that point to pages that no longer exist, and suggest replacements.

What happens

  1. The AI app lists your published posts and pages with their current addresses.
  2. It reads each post and compares the links to your own site with those addresses.
  3. It shows you the table and waits for your choices.
  4. Each fix replaces one passage only where it appears exactly once; otherwise nothing changes and you are told how many times it appears.
  5. A change to a live post waits for your approval in SAR, and can be undone for 30 days.

Approvals involved

Worked out from the tools this recipe uses.

  • wordpress_get_postGet a post or pageNone
  • wordpress_replace_in_postReplace a passageApproval once live

What you get

Posts whose links take readers, and search engines, to pages that exist. Links added by a page builder, the theme or a widget are not in the post text, so check those separately.
