A narrower WordPress role for the client's staff

Copy Shop manager into a narrower role for the client's staff, take away what they shouldn't touch, and invite them with it.

The prompt

The client's staff should handle orders and products on [client site], but not plugins, themes or users. Show me the roles and their capabilities. Make a new role [Shop assistant] copied from Shop manager, remove [the capabilities to remove], and show me the list before and after. Then invite [staff name and email] with that role. Wait for my approvals.

Already connected?

If SAR is already in your AI app, this is enough:

Already connected?

Make a [Shop assistant] role from Shop manager without [capabilities] and invite [person] with it.

What happens

  1. The AI app reads every role with its capabilities and how many users have each.
  2. Copying Shop manager into the new role is approved in SAR with your password. Capabilities your own connection lacks are not copied.
  3. Removing capabilities is approved with your password too, and administrator-level capabilities are flagged for whoever approves. It can be undone.
  4. Inviting the person waits for your approval. WordPress emails them a link to choose their own password; SAR never sees or sets one.
