Add a custom metric for discount amount in Google Analytics, with your approval
Register a numeric parameter your shop already sends, such as the discount on an order, as a GA4 custom metric after you approve it in SAR.

My shop sends the numeric parameter [discount_amount] with each [purchase] event to Google Analytics. Check the custom metrics my property already has, then propose an event-scoped custom metric called [Discount amount] measured as [currency]. Show me the exact parameter name, display name and unit and wait for my yes. While we wait for data, show me from the shop how often each coupon was used over the last [90] days and how much discount it gave.
Already connected?
If SAR is already in your AI app, this is enough:
Create a custom metric for [discount_amount] in Google Analytics, after showing me the details.
What happens
- The AI app reads the custom dimensions and metrics your property already has.
- It shows you the exact custom metric it would create and waits for your yes.
- Creating it waits for your approval in SAR before it reaches Google.
- It reads how often each coupon was used and how much discount it gave, from the shop.
- Later, it runs a Google Analytics report of the new metric, for data collected after it exists.

What you get
Discounts you can compare by channel and campaign in Google Analytics, next to your shop's own coupon figures. The metric holds only data collected after it was created.
