What an action is
An action is one tool call by the AI app that reached one of your sources, for example a report from Google Analytics or the list of orders from WooCommerce.
| Counts | Does not count |
|---|---|
| A call that read or changed something in a source | Listing your connected sources, organizations and built-in playbooks |
| A composite tool that asks several sources: one action per source | A call that was refused, for example because the source is read-only |
One question can become one action or several, depending on how much the AI app needs to read to answer it.
The daily allowance
- The allowance counts per UTC day and resets at midnight UTC.
- It is shared by every organization on the same plan.
- For agencies, each client has the share the agency gives it from its own allowance. See Agencies and clients.
- The free plan has its own daily allowance; paid plans add more actions and more organizations.
When you reach the limit
- The AI app is told the day's limit was reached and when it resets.
- Further calls are refused until midnight UTC, or until you change plan.
- Nothing is disconnected and no data is deleted.
- If a payment fails, your plan stays as it is for a grace period. After that the free plan's limits apply until the payment goes through.
Where to see your usage
In SAR, open your account settings and go to Billing.
- Your plan: the plan, the daily allowance and the organizations on it.
- Usage: how many actions your AI apps took today across every organization on the plan, the share of the allowance used and when it resets.
- The last 7 days, and What's using it, by area (for example WooCommerce, Analytics, Search, Site care).
- On the Clients page, an agency sees each client's actions today and over the last 30 days.
SEO data: two separate things
A call to DataForSEO, Semrush, Ahrefs or SE Ranking counts as an action like any other. On top of that, the provider charges it to your own account. You control that cost with the connection's monthly budget and limit per call, as Connect Google explains.
