Can ChatGPT or Claude translate my WordPress site?
Yes, through your translation plugin. With TranslatePress it translates string by string and saves them as reviewed; with WPML (beta) or Polylang it creates translation drafts linked to the original. With WooCommerce Multilingual (beta), variable products are translated with their variations. Every change waits for your approval and can be undone.

TranslatePress, string by string
SAR opens a page once in a language so TranslatePress records its strings, then sets translations as reviewed, keeping the original's HTML tags. Its machine translation keys are never read.
WPML (beta) and Polylang
Translation drafts linked to the original, optionally with the page-builder layout copied, and string translations.
Variable products
With WooCommerce Multilingual (beta): the attribute terms first, then the variations. A translation with the wrong number of variations is removed again. You can also check each translation's variations and read the currencies.
Weglot
Whether it is connected, its languages and where to edit them. Never its key.

How to connect it
Connect your WordPress site

Allow changes, if you want them
The connection is read-only by default. An owner or admin can allow changes; each one then shows a preview and waits for a person's approval in SAR.

Add https://mcp.sar-soft.com/mcp, SAR's MCP server address, as a custom connector (in ChatGPT, with developer mode turned on), sign in and authorize one organization.

What to know
- Translations are written by ChatGPT or Claude. Have someone who knows the language read the important ones.
- Weglot is shown as status only; SAR does not translate through it.
- Variable products are translated only with WooCommerce Multilingual, which is in beta. With Polylang, SAR says why it cannot.
- Removing a TranslatePress language always needs your password.
- Every translation SAR creates or changes is logged and can be undone.
Questions people ask
Does SAR use its own translation service?
No. ChatGPT or Claude writes the translation in your conversation, and SAR puts it in through your translation plugin. Your plugin's own machine translation, if you use it, stays as you set it.
What happens to the page layout?
In TranslatePress the original's HTML tags are kept, string by string. With WPML or Polylang the page-builder layout can be copied into the draft, so only the text changes.
