The short answer
At the time of writing, Google's own Search Console documentation and GitHub organizations list no Search Console MCP server. You can build or run one yourself on the Search Console API, which authorizes every request with OAuth 2.0. A hosted connector such as SAR Intelligence connects one site with Google's read-only webmasters.readonly scope, and you add it to ChatGPT or Claude with one address.
For the steps and everything a hosted Search Console connection reads, see Google Search Console with ChatGPT and Claude.
Key points
- At the time of writing, Google's own Search Console documentation and GitHub organizations list no Search Console MCP server. Google's list of its MCP servers includes Google Analytics.
- A server of your own calls the Search Console API, which accepts OAuth 2.0 only, with the webmasters.readonly scope to read or the webmasters scope to read and write.
- Search Console data is typically available after 2 to 3 days, whichever route you take.
- Anonymized queries, those issued by few people, are left out of query tables, so query rows can add up to less than the chart totals.
- SAR Intelligence connects one Search Console site per connection with webmasters.readonly, and the AI app gets read tools only.
A server of your own or a hosted connector
| What differs | Your own server on the Search Console API | Hosted connector (SAR Intelligence) |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | You, on your computer or your own server | SAR, at one web address |
| Google access | OAuth 2.0 credentials you register, for an application or a service account, with the scope you pick | Sign in with Google and allow read-only access (webmasters.readonly) |
| Which sites it reads | Any site the account has owner, full or read access to | One site you choose per connection |
| ChatGPT and Claude on the web | Need a remote server reachable over the internet | Add one address as a custom connector |
| Data freshness | Typically 2 to 3 days behind | Typically 2 to 3 days behind |
Is there an official Search Console MCP server?
At the time of writing, Google's own Search Console documentation and GitHub organizations list no Search Console MCP server. The Search Console API documentation does not mention MCP.
Google keeps a list of its MCP servers on GitHub, in google/mcp. Google Analytics appears there as an open-source server. Search Console does not.
What a server of your own needs
The Search Console API gives programmatic access to search analytics, your verified sites, sitemaps and page tests. A Search Console MCP server turns those calls into tools for the AI app. According to Google's documentation, you need:
- Your application registered in the Google API Console, with the Search Console API turned on.
- OAuth 2.0 credentials, for a web application, an installed application or a service account. The API supports no other authorization protocol.
- A scope: webmasters.readonly for read-only access, or webmasters for read and write.
- Access to the site in Search Console, as an owner or with full or read access.
- Somewhere to run the server. ChatGPT and Claude on the web connect only to servers they can reach over the internet.
What the data can and cannot show
These limits apply whoever reads the data, a server of your own or SAR.
- Search Console data is typically available after 2 to 3 days.
- Search Console leaves anonymized queries, those issued by few people, out of its query tables to protect searchers' privacy. Query rows can therefore add up to less than the chart totals.
- The API's Search Analytics method returns at most 50,000 rows a day for each search type, sorted by clicks.
How SAR Intelligence connects Search Console
SAR Intelligence is a hosted MCP server. You register no application with Google and run nothing. The AI app can read clicks, impressions, CTR and average position by query, page, country or device, compare two periods, and see URL inspection results and sitemaps. It cannot request indexing, submit sitemaps or remove URLs.
- Sign in with Google, allow read-only access (webmasters.readonly) and choose one site.
- Add https://mcp.sar-soft.com/mcp as a custom connector in ChatGPT (with developer mode turned on) or Claude.
- Sign in to SAR when asked and authorize one organization.
- Revoke the AI app in the SAR Intelligence app, and it takes effect within about a minute.
When each fits
A server of your own fits a developer who is comfortable registering OAuth applications with Google, wants to decide which tools exist, and has somewhere to host the server.
A hosted connector fits a business owner or agency working in ChatGPT or Claude. Connect GA4 to the same organization and you can ask questions that need both sources. Answers come from the AI app and can be wrong or incomplete.

Questions people ask
Does Google publish a Search Console MCP server?
At the time of writing, Google's own Search Console documentation and GitHub organizations list no Search Console MCP server. For Google Analytics, Google does publish an open-source server.
Why do query rows add up to less than the totals?
Search Console leaves anonymized queries out of its tables to protect the privacy of the people who searched. It still counts them in the chart totals.
Which ChatGPT or Claude plan do I need?
You add SAR as a custom connector (in ChatGPT, with developer mode turned on). The plans that can do this are listed below.
- ChatGPTOn a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan, on the web, with developer mode turned on.OpenAI's guide
- ClaudeOn any plan. Free allows one custom connector, and on Team and Enterprise an owner adds it first.Anthropic's guide
Can the AI app submit a sitemap or request indexing through SAR?
No. SAR connects with webmasters.readonly and gives the AI app read tools only.
