Can ChatGPT or Claude read my WordPress posts and pages?

Yes, through SAR Intelligence. Install the WordPress MCP Adapter and SAR Commerce Connector plugins, connect the site in the SAR app, and add SAR to ChatGPT or Claude. The AI app can then list, search and read your published posts and pages. It cannot edit or publish anything, and it does not read drafts. WooCommerce is optional.

Published posts and pages, with their title, link, publish date and text as plain text. ChatGPT or Claude can list them, search them by keyword and open one to read it.

Site status

Which connector version is installed, whether WooCommerce and the MCP Adapter are active, and which WordPress user the connection runs as. Useful when something is missing.

Traffic and search for those pages

Connect Google Analytics and Search Console as well, and the AI app can match your posts to their visits, search queries, clicks and impressions.

Shop data with WooCommerce

If the site runs WooCommerce, the same connection also reads products, orders, stock, categories and a sales summary.

How to connect it

  1. Install the plugins

    On WordPress 6.9 or later, install and activate the WordPress MCP Adapter plugin and the SAR Commerce Connector plugin. WooCommerce is not needed.

  2. Create an application password

    In the profile of a WordPress user who can read your published content, create an application password. Copy it, because WordPress shows it only once.

  3. Connect the site in SAR

    Create your organization at app.sar-soft.com and connect the site with its https address, the username and that password. In the app this connection is called WooCommerce, and it works on a site without a shop.

  4. Add SAR to ChatGPT or Claude

    Add https://mcp.sar-soft.com/mcp, SAR's MCP server address, as a custom connector (in ChatGPT, with developer mode turned on), sign in and authorize one organization. Check which plans can add it below the steps.

What to know

  • SAR only reads. The AI app cannot create, edit or publish posts or pages.
  • Only published posts and pages are read, as plain text. Drafts, SEO plugin fields, media, comments, users and settings are not.
  • Each connection reads one WordPress site.
  • Traffic and search figures live in Google Analytics and Search Console. Connect them too if you want to ask how your pages perform.
  • Answers come from ChatGPT or Claude and can be wrong or incomplete. Check important details on the page itself.

Questions people ask

Does it need WooCommerce?

No. Any WordPress site on version 6.9 or later can connect its published posts and pages. If the site also runs WooCommerce, the same connection reads its shop data too.

In the app the connection is called WooCommerce, and it works on a site without a shop too. WordPress 6.9 or later, with the WordPress MCP Adapter and SAR Commerce Connector plugins.

Which WordPress user should the connection use?

A user who can read your published content. A separate user for SAR makes it easy to revoke its application password later. The SAR app's setup screen tells you if the user lacks access.

Can ChatGPT or Claude edit or publish my content?

No. The plugin's write switches are off by default, and SAR allows none of its write tools. Your posts, pages and settings stay as they are.

Can it read my Yoast or Rank Math data?

No. SEO plugin fields such as SEO titles, meta descriptions and focus keywords are not read. To see how your pages do in Google, connect Search Console, which holds queries, clicks, impressions and position.

Does SAR store my content?

No. SAR never stores your questions or answers, and that includes the text of your posts. Your application password is encrypted at rest and never shown back. Your conversation history follows ChatGPT's or Claude's own settings.
